Description

Punk's Dead: SLC Punk 2, the sequel to the 1999 cult hit SLC Punk, is a punk odyssey through the Utah Hinterlands. Ross, Penny and Crash, three young outsiders from different tribes, embark on a road trip to get to a huge punk show in Salt Lake City. Ross,18, is the love child of Trish and Heroin Bob, who died before Ross was born. During the course of their trip, and with the help of a healthy dose of drugs, alcohol and punk music, Ross shreds his darkly gothic outlook and embraces life. But his mother Trish, who raised Ross alone in her steam punk shop, thinks that he is in crisis and recruits Bob's old SLC gang to help find him. When all collide at the concert, they are forced to deal with their pasts and their unresolved relationships with Bob.

This is a good movie and is a good follow up to SLC punk, however my only complaint is No Stevo. Heroin Bobs best freind is no where to be found. I know at the end of the first movie he said he was going to be a litigator in New York. But still there was not even a cameo, not even a phone call from Stevo to Heroin bobs wife or son. I felt it would have been better if Stevo would of made a cameo, in the film to explain what happened to Stevo and to explain to Heroin Bobs son, his life what was he like, what was he in to, and what type of person he was. I feel that is the greatest let down from this movie. Other than that it was an okay movie.

This movie is phenomenal. It's not like the first one; however, it retains the ability to stand on its own. I guarantee you can relate to at least one, if not more of, the characters. James Duval's portrayal of John the (former) mod is an absolute delight! James Merendino did NOT disappoint! I sincerely hope this movie goes down as a classic and is as well loved and received as the first. Thank you so much for your hard work in creating this masterpiece.

The first film captured the Punk movement pretty well.. This one lacked the wit, plot, and cinematography.. Very dissapointed with this sequel. It had great promise. At the end of the day. Total fail, and a waste of 9 bucks...

Loved the sountrack that's mixing punk songs from The Dwarves, Rancid and NoFx with post punk and goth tunes. New Order, The Chameleons, Bowie... Wow. The new characters and actors are brilliant and it's great to see the old faces again.
  • I knew it would be bad, but how could I know it would be this awful!

This is seriously one of the worst movies ever made. The movie spends a great portion of the time on concert footage of a dozen bands. The editing is horrible. The acting is melodramatic. The entire film has no cohesion to it whatsoever. The characters are given about 15 seconds development. It was bad, and not like, so bad it’s good. It’s so bad it’s pitiful.

Totally disappointed. They ruined a classic by attaching this movie to the original.
