Fishbowl California

I guess I'm the one 1-star in a sea of 5-stars, but some of the other reviews seem weird. They talk about seeing it at a film festival, but aren't these supposed to be iTunes reviews? One reviewer even said they only saw the trailer, not the film! The female lead was interesting, but the male lead was painted as such an irredeemable loser that I had no interest in seeing what happened to him. I have sympathy for losers in real life, but this was an absurd loser that exists only in fiction. Also the young boy character was completely implausible.

Excellent movie!! It really pulls on your heart strings, but makes you laugh at the same time! The characters are all so unique and they remind you that friendship is not bound by age and there's always something to learn from someone walking a different path of life. Would recommend to anyone wanting to feel something, whether empathy or hilarity!

An all too common story that so many of us have endured, yet so many of us want to desperately avoid. Fishbowl California is a thoughtful and self conscious plot that allows you to feel a deep connection with each character. In a world so full of hate and misunderstanding this film really gets what we need to focus on, the love for each other and getting over what’s stopping yourself. Fantastic movie. I highly recommend!

‘Fishbowl California’ hit close to home. I found myself relating to characters, situations and relationships presented in this film. I watched as events unfolded and character development happened right in front of my eyes that were believe-able. It’s a film one does not just watch but one finds themselves latching on to. In a world where films are just recreated with a few small differences or just rebooted near identically with a few minor character changes, it’s refreshing to watch something original in thought. The small pop-culture references in the film were enjoyable to catch, the soundtrack - fun to listen to, the characters comradery completely takes you in, and all with the heartwarming message of, “Just be a better person”, something one can truly get behind. Congrats on such a well-made film. I hope to see more from the creator, writers and director. 10/10
