  • Pure fiction, with a misguided message...

For anyone who had read the assortment of well researched books out there, this is pure fiction. Further, the message that committing ax murders is a sign of female empowerment is incredibly misguided and morally wrong. This could have been a good movie, if they'd stuck to the facts and had a different, more realistic cast.

Chloe and Kristen slay this. Well shot and great movie for those two alone. Pretty interesting take on what could have happened in that house.

Holypoet is a homophobe and obviously isn’t well versed in history. This is a great flick.

Great movie, excellent cinematography. The actors were gripping, spot on time period. Goes to show that good directors can make the piece.
  • Craziest Ending I’ve ever seen!

How is this movie not a blockbuster hit!
  • Lackluster Lizzie

The film does a good job of portraying its given time period. Performances by Kristen Stewart and Chloe Sevigny are mesmerizing in their own right. But there is definitely a lack of momentum. It’s very cut and dry leading right up to the end. The point was to say Lizzie Borden was ruthless. I mean the killings were shown as nothing but that. But I expected more from this film especially with its strong female leads. And on top of that, Lizzie’s story deserved justice now more than ever since the made-for-tv version with Christina Ricci was a bit of a flop.
