Description

Burt Lancaster gives a powerhouse performance as an aging Mexican-American lawman who erupts into a one-man army in this bold saga of retribution and redemption. Valdez Is Coming boldly recreates America's western frontier, a place where life was sometimes cheap...but honor was always priceless. When it comes to keeping the peace, former frontier sheriff Bob Valdez has always been the voice of reason in a sea of chaos. But Frank Tanner (Jon Cypher) is a very different sort of man: greedy, impulsive and rotten to the core. So when Tanner provokes a shootout that results in the death of an innocent man, Valdez orders him to provide financial support for the widow. But when Tanner not only refuses but also laughs in his face, Valdez dusts off his old uniform, straps on his guns and vows to exact justice and vengeance at any cost.

A GREAT flick and one of my all time favorite Westerns. Burt Lancaster plays a half breed, "Valdez", an ex-Buffalo Hunter and U.S. Calvary Scout, but now seemingly nothing more than a two bit lawman. Due to his ethnic roots, Valdez is a second class citizen that can't get any respect from the white establishment, especially a wealthy rancher who needs his help to find his estranged wife (played by Susan Clark), abducted by a band of renegade banditos from across the border. What the crazed Rancher, a local tough, all-mouth, hired gun (played by Richard Jordan), and the banditos don't at first realize, is Valdez has his trusty Buffalo gun at the ready and never misses from incredibly long range. Valdez Is Coming is terrific (PG rated) family entertainment. Don't miss it!!!
