If you like dark comedy, historical settings, drama, good acting, and a wonderful soundtrack, this movie is for you

This movie is certainly not for those faint of heart or thin skinned but fantastic all the same. It’s a psychological horror, cannibal, and vaguely cult film with the perfect touch of dark comedy which keeps you on your toes. The set is stunning and the cast is equally well chosen Robert Carlyle and Guy Pierce do a wonderful job on this film. Antonia Bird was the perfect director for this film topping this delightful hidden gem that Ravenous is. Just watch it on an empty stomach is the only advice I have to offer

The high def transfer is really bad. Movie is dark, and was never colorful, but really, it looks like you are looking at digital mud. It's not even as good as a normal SD upscale for a movie like this from 1999. Looks like they lost the original footage. Sadly, this is it for digital.

Best soundtrack ever.

This is an excellent movie, very original. The problem is the picture quality. It looks like DVD, not 1080p HD. The picture is very soft, no sharmpness anywhere. I can't imagine how good this movie would look with a higher resolution transfer.

A restlessly dark movie. I feel if it hadn't been for extremely different story line ,this would haven't been even worth watching. The acting is certainly above par.

This movie has been hanging with me for such a long time. It's not at all what you'd expect, especially not if you've only seen a trailer. But it's beautiful... incredibly well acted, well fitting soundtrack, definitely messed up but not too gross... and it manages to be somehow absoloutely hysterical without being a cheese-fest. One of the few I can watch over and over, I adore this film! My only question is; why is the soundtrack not available... um, anywhere?

The movie was great! It was very funny in a dark way and has some very likable interesting characters. The first half is genius however I have to say that the second half and end drop the ball a bit in my opinion. Still I feel this is a very underrated movie and should be more widely known.

Absolutely love this movie and it's soundtrack.
