Hole In the Paper Sky

I've been listening to the soundtrack to the movie ever since it came out and have waited impatiently to see the movie. It was everything I could imagined and more. Incredible story but why did it take so long to have it available?

This story of an odd loner, who discovers compassion through his friendship with a dog is touching, sweet and thought provoking. It's beautifully shot, well acted and quite impressive. Three thumbs up... yes. three.

I wanted to like this film. Why did they have to add the "Hollywood" visual effects toward the end? The added expense made the film feel cheap if that makes sense.... Maybe it's just me.

I love shorts but they're hit-or-miss. Sometimes you get student-type projects that aren't so swift. This one's a hit: a big hit. It packs a massive emotional punch and turns in some brilliant performances, most notably by Jason Clarke from Showtime's "Brotherhood" who would win an Oscar for this performance if they had Best Actor in Short Film Oscar awards. Seriously, I'm not being hyperbolic. The music, the photography, the direction, the acting... it's award-worthy. What an awesome find. Highly highly recommended.

This short film was stunning and heart breaking at the same time. I think it deserves more than 5 stars.

Just loved this short film. It drew you in making you want to know more about the characters. What a perfect title for such a beautiful heart-felt movie. I had been waiting to watch it again. Jason Clarke was a wonderful choice for the lead, love to see him in more movies. Will definetely spread the word and can't wait to see a full length movie by Bill Purple. Looks like he's someone to keep your eye out for. Great job and keep 'em coming!!

An inspiring, heart-felt, award winning short film. You'll want to watch it over and over. The star-studded cast, deep characters and enobling story, will pull you in in a way you would never think possible.

Saw this in Cannes two years ago and have been waiting since to see it again. Spectacular job to all involved! There is nothing better than a story that is done RIGHT of a defeated soul that embraces something that is long lost on behalf of the unique friendship of a dog! The soundtrack by Kerry Muzzey is as effective as every visual aspect of the film!
