This movie was a boring mess. The script was unimaginative and the dialogue lacked any real emotion. The preformances, despite coming from good actors, were wooden through and through. The plot was just... boirng. It was hard to care whether or not these two boring people ever got together. Even the camera work was off, occaisionally shifting into a jerky close up mode usually reserved for local news commercials. If you're looking for a good period movie about lovers parted by society and business dealings in the Americas then just watch The Way We Live Now. Not even the King in the North could save this.
