Shigurui: Death Frenzy

All right, Look here. This show is not an action packed/special effects laden free-for-all. It is a much more slowly-building revenge driven action drama with blood, guts, sex & extreme violence all thrown in together. I liked the show all the way up until it JUST STOPPED………… right in the middle of the story! HUH?! Where's the rest? The reason for this?……. THEY NEVER MADE THE REST! This, my friends is an incomplete anime series. Why would you want to own an anime series that was never finished? You wouldn't! Who would? Great show, just FOREVER INCOMPLETE! BAH!

I cannot see how anyone could give this beautiful artwork of an anime anything less than 5 stars. I have been watching Anime's here in America since the late 80s on VHS when they were RARE/ hard to find oddities. I have seen so many different types over the years...and this one is beautifully done, great characters and awesome storyline. The story is more 'realistic than fantasy'..so don't expect any Naruto or other fantasy magic. The characters in the show are very much charactictures of living people...drawn so wonderfully. And...I wouldn't say there are SLOW parts to the show...those are done deliberately to bring out the subtlety of daily life and the profound messages behind them that may escape the shallow imagination of the younger generation who have no culture or soul....just the ' gimme right now' attitude of certain individuals who cannot appreciate the messages the writers are trying to say. I only had to buy one episode to know this was something special and know I was in for a treat!! I was only slightly disappointed in one thing...the ending....it left me hungry for more....and left it wide open for your own interpretation as to how it ended. (at least ONE part in particular) If you appreciate true Japanese culture, the warrior class, martial arts or samurai anime.....then do not hesitate. Purchase the entire series.....as I did. You WILL LOVE IT!!!!!!

I read the reviews and was hoping for the likes of Samurai Champloo meets Gunslinger Girls/ Ghost in the shell. The show is painfully slow and half the time, I'm trying to figure out what I'm looking at. The sex and violent is good and I can see the author is trying very hard.. too hard.

For those that down this anime, sorry this was not the usaul sailor moon your use to, this is more for the dedicated, hardcore anime watchers, this I consider one of the best, so to all ya'll pokemon fans, this is not an anime for you.

Shingurui Death Frenzy has delivered as it promised. This is hardly a work of genius, but neither is it entirely drivel. It succeeds in creating a building conflict between two rival swordsman who are competing for the role of successor of their style. The tension between these two deadly men is built and maintained at a very good pace. The characters are a bit of a caricature of themselves at times, but being cartoons that shouldn't come as a suprise. The animation style relies heavily on long and dramatic still shots, which are stunning but the lack of motion in the animation can become a little tiresome. This type of cut is typical of all anime, but could be a little laborious in this case. The violence is stylized and beautiful, and at times splendidly grotesque. The music I found to be excellent, which is devoid of pop music and relies solely on traditional japanese instruments.

Seriously if you have ever read " Lone wolf and cub" then this is as close as it gets. Pure art, building up to an awesome development, the only thing is that you wish for more at the end. Where's the final duel???? Ok, if you a "KID" and like that Naruto crap, then this is definitely out of your league, go back to Pokemon world!

when are you going to put more of this anime it really good anime so please get the second season

Sorry guys but this one is the worst anime i have ever seen, there is no good story and bad directing, this should be in 3 Episodes not 12.
