Noir is by no means a bad anime, it's a solid anime in its own right despite its flaws. I don't mind the slow pace from the beginning of the show because I'm okay with that. The main characters are really cool in their own right minus the minor characters. I really enjoyed listening to the music in this anime. It is definitely a plus, in my book. One of the problems with this anime is lack of blood when someone gets hit by a bullet, or gets stabbed to death, among other things. I have no idea why that's like that but I don't want to think about it too much. It's one of these anime where you have to watch the whole thing more than once to have much better understanding of what's going on, or something like that. The art design or visuals don't look that bad to me, at all. It doesn't bother me one bit considering that this show is old and whatnot. Bottom line, Noir is no masterpiece nor is it a "disasterpiece." It may not hold a candle to other action-packed anime nor will it be for everyone but at the end of the day, I really enjoyed it for what it was. That's all that matters to me, first and foremost. A really solid show I can appreciate despite its problems.

This anime is something of a mix of The Da Vinci Code and La Femme Nikita. Unlike many animes, it is not very gory at all, but there is a very high body count. In many cases, It's over-the-top (it's anime, duh), but the complex characters are a welcome change from BESM hyperbolicly endowed superheroines. There are a good number of belief suspension scenes (it's anime, duh), but all-in-all, it's nicely done, and set mostly in Europe instead of in Japan. Excellent soundtrack by Yuki Kajura (FictionJunction), which I wish was available on iTunes. I give it 4/5 stars (good for the medium).
