Charlie's Angels (1977), Season 5

Thank you I-Tunes for giving fans Season 5 of the greatest TV show ever created - CHARLIE'S ANGELS! True, the show was on it's last leg in it's final season, but everytime Julie Rogers (Tanya Roberts) steps on-screen you can see electricity in the air! She may not be the standard ex-cop Angel, but she tries extra hard ("Island Angels"), is funny when she bungles a mission ("He Married an Angel"), and is unquestionably the sexiest Angel ever! I love all six of the REAL Angels, but Julie is my 2nd favorite (Sabrina #1 forever), and that's saying something since she is only in 17 episodes. Kris and Kelly seem a bit bored, but Julie is on fire and thrilled to be working with her temporary detective's license. Season 5 has some great episodes - "Angels in Hiding", "Hula Angels", and "Attack Angel". It also has the two of the worst - "Chorus Line Angels" and "Mr. Galaxy" (the Angels just sit around eavesdropping and not doing much). Even still, this is a must own for all fans. Many people did not get a chance to see Season 5. The show moved from Wednesday to Sunday, then to Saturday, then went on a three month hiatus before returning back to Wednesday and dying a slow death with no promotion at all. It's ashame. Julie Rogers is the most underrated Angel. Love her!

Finally a full season of Charlies Angels for purchase even if it is download only on itunes, it is better than none at all. True this was one of the weaker seasons of the bunch, but you know a true fan will find the roses among the thorns and there are some really good episodes on here to see again and again. The season opener is a very good one where Julie was introduced as the model turned detective, my other favs are Angel on the line where Kelly was pursued by a psycho drag queen stalker, then we have wakki angels, a true gem to watch. Then there is another personal favorite attack angels which was really a redo of a class act first season episode the seance, but very good indeed. Finally there is the season finale Let our Angel LIve where we see Kelly getting shot again. That one was really ironic to say the least, and yet a somewhat interesting tribute to Kelly Garret. Worth waiting for even if it is only download format.

I'm so grateful and excited that the final season of this piece of my childhood is finally available. I have so many fond memories of this season, especially the episodes of "Angel on the Line", the premiere episode "Angel in Hiding" (which also included "To See An Angel Die - if memory serves me, this premiered on a Sunday night as a 3 hour event). Of course, there's also the final episode, the ironic, "Let Our Angel Live". It's so sad that this Fifth Season was cut short because of the writer's strike. Anyway, the 8-12 year old girl in me is very happy that this is available!
