While the track and vocals are PASSABLE at BEST, shouldn't Knight be recording/releasing (more) AGE APPROPRIATE material?! Why not open up the AMERICAN SONGBOOK and record some standards, for instance or even collection of COVERS, ala THE QUEEN OF SOUL ARETHA FRANKLIN, who did a BANG UP job covering Adele's "In The Deep"...It's not a "good look" for an artist of her (supposed) caliber to target the same demographic as TAMAR BRAXTON, RIHANNA, etc. C'mon Gladys! AMENDMENT (10/28/2015): This is the REVIEW section, not a DEBATE BLOG. I wrote my review based on ARTISTRY, CRAFT as well as the MUSIC INDUSTRY. It's a NO-BRAINER that Knight's bottom-barrel fanbase would turn this forum into a personal debate. However, THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE. Maybe all...wait...let me count: 1, 2, 3...6 or 7 of you should have launched a legitimate campaign to prevent this "release" from being the obvious FLOP that it has become. EVERYONE in the industry has long known Knight DOES NOT MOVE UNITS -- and HASN'T DONE SO IN YEARS.

Song is absolutely amazing, beautifully done wonderful arrangements and Ms Gladys Knight is as classy as Ever! This is a great song for a wonderful artist, excuse me! I mean living legend... And for the idiotic fools who think that Ms Gladys Knight isn't singing songs that are age appropriate, Get a life! As long as she's singing she should always reinvent her sound and style! Even at 70/71 she still vibrant and classy even with updated material. She will always out-class current artist because, that's just who she is,Classy!!!!!

@Thirdeye2015. Obviously you don’t know your music history. (SUPPOSED? REALLY?) All the female artists today have Gladys influence in them. This album is age appropriate for her. Its a new sound for her AND she has the chops AND experience to pull it off. The remixes are gonna be wicked! This This is a song that ALL ages can get into. BUT, you are entitled to your opinion.

Obviously you're not a fan of Gladys knight he's done the standard type cd(and it was great)and like Tina turner says "always reinvent yourself"and at the beautiful age of 71 ms knight is having the time of life .....

It has a great sound and rhythm. I can't wait for the complete CD.

This song is amazing and very refreshing. It's amazing how Ms. Gladys Knight is able to have longevity and relevance in the music game today. A major shout out to S1 and his Grammy award winning producing team for bringing life to this track. I'm looking forward to the album. AD

Gladys Knight like you've never heard her before! This song takes you on a journey through so many genres. I love the live instrumentation and the other production elements as well. Bgvs on fleek!! Lol. All around banger!! The Empress of Soul is one of a kind.
