Reviews

  • I must be one sad dude!

I saw one reviewer write that this album is "too personal." Isn't music suppossed to be a personal expression? I must be one sad dude, because I can relate to a lot of these lyrics (getting divorced, dealing with the passing of a close friend) and I'm only 30. I'm glad he wrote about the topics he did. I think it takes guts. I love fast, hard hitting punk as much as anyone else but it would be kind of weird if Fat Mike was writing about the same things he was writing about in 1988. That's just my opinion. No, this isn't NOFX at their ultimate best but, in a sort of strange way, it's still a fascinating and occassionally even beautiful album.

Why are you slowing down more and more every album? Pennywise’s new release blows this away!

Great NOFX albums: White trash, punk in drublic, SO LONG AND THANKS FOR ALL THE SHOES (best album ever made), Pump up the valuum, war on errorism, wolves in wolves, coaster. Ribbed and so long we're giant leaps in their song writing and tightly tuned music. There were some great songs on self entitled and a few on this one but this isn't one of their best

This entire album is the result of decades of experience. It's clear the Fat Mike and the gang reached a new level of music creation. The structures, lyrics, and sound are typical of what you'd expect from This band, but it's at max level in terms of skill. The overall sound and mixing on this album is just beautiful. It's so heavy and full, and don't get me started on the lyrics & meloldies. NOFX should be proud.

I've followed NOFX since I was a teenager in the 90s. If you got them back then you will love this album. If you're a 16 year old just discovering punk in drublic then wait till you hit 40 or so and if you're still into punk download it. I am a 40 year old punk rocker and it's a punk message NOFX gave me when I was a 23 year old drunk at parties listening to them. Love you guys and RIP Tony Sly.

I am a long time NOFX fan. Holy poop. I never noticed how many times a song starts with "I" with Fat Mike's lyrics... Murder the Government, Franco Unamerican, Lazy, etc...including 7 songs on this album alone. Wow....Can You name a few more that do??
  • Yeah NOFX is back!

I've seen NOFX live tons of times and my favorite thing about them is they're not afraid to admit that they're mediocre. This is sloppy, short, unrehearsed punk rock at its' best - what punk rock is and should be to begin with. And Fat Mike touches on all of his favorite subjects - drugs (Oxy Moronic), cross dressing (I'm A Transvest-Lite), himself (I Don't Like Me Anymore), conspiracy theories (Sid & Nancy), politics (Generation Z), and parents (Dead Beat Mom). So if you're a NOFX fan you should have this already and should know what to expect. But if not it's NOFX and if you're uninitiated this is all you need to know.

I don’t write many reviews, but had to for this record. This is Nofx at their finest. Quality songs after all these years. Still kicking out solid melodies and catchy hooks. Sounds like a follow up album to “So Long..” which is my favorite of theirs. This takes me back to growing up. Great work guys
