back in the middle sixties Henry M.released an album titled " The Big Latin Band of Henry Mancini" it included his arrangments of movie theme songs...from the beautiful trumpet arrang. in "A Fistful of Dollars" to the brooding horns in " Hang 'em High" .......the signature " owl call " intro from " The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" and the best rendition of " Mission Impossible " ...period.....all of the "Theme" songs have a definite latin swing to them...Henry futher dives into his latin bag with songs like "Norma La De Guadalajara ( one of my all time favorite songs ), Las Cruces and a sweet and most solid version of "Patricia"...if you ever have watched HBO's Real Sex then you've heard a hacked version of "patricia" as the intro/outro song....it sad that you never see these songs on the compilation albums or in a movie with a latin character..this album IS essential Henry M.!

I was introduced to Jazz through the original Peter Gunn album in the 60's. I fell in love with Mancini's style. Henry started as a Jazz artist, played and learned from the greats of the day. After his death it was apparent he had left a major contribution to easy listening Jazz. Sadly, Richard Hayman is having problems capturing Mancini's spirit with the given selections. One song may be entertaining yet the next be a disappointment. I can't give this album more than a 3 rating.

Although packed with alot of music, I was DISAPPOINTED at the quality of music and choice of tracks. I feed this is NOT up to Henry Mancini's or Richard Hayman's standards!

Beautiful arrangements. All songs are superbly recorded and Henry Mancini would be proud of both the technical quality and beautifully arranged material by Richard Hayman. The orchestrations are very well recorded and both the engineering and technical achievement are to be congratulated.
