  • Brilliant comedian!

I had always liked Jackie's standup in the various late night appearances I saw, but really developed an appreciation for her on The Never Not Funny podcast and then her podcasts The Dork Forest and The Jackie and Laurie show. This most recent "Not the Hero" set is so great. I'm not a comedian, but she is definitely a comedian's comedian!

This is the special that has both the Armenian grandmother story and the Tantric sex joke. After listening to Jackie and Laurie discuss them, I was crazy to hear them. Win! Both those stories were shorter than I expected, but seriously, who can tell time while laughing? Lots of funny stuff here, including some Dad stories, so put your money down.

Her funniest album. The rest are funny too, but this is the best. Timely af ;)

Jackie's work is always good, funny, thoughtful and this is some of her work at it's finest. Wandering through not wanting to feel political to family to marriage, this was my favorite journey of hers so far. Love it, will relisten often.
  • Her best album yet

I really liked her first two albums but this one is her best. Great material, well-performed. There's some painful human moments in it that she manages to be respectful of and still find humor in.

Jackie Kashian is a master storyteller and nowhere is that more evident than in this hysterical collection. If you enjoy smart AND funny give this a listen.

I love Jackie Kashian and all her albums, and this is just more proof she only gets better! Her delivery and joke craftsmanship is perfect as ever and her commentary on current events is especially valuable and heartfelt. I'll always love whatever Jackie puts out but this is an especially on-point offering to the comedy world!

It's rare treat to hear someone smart, thoughtful and hilarious. I love her work and her podcast with Laurie Kilmartin.

I'm an avid listener of the Jackie and Laurie podcast, and so I've been hearing Jackie talk about some of the bits on this album for over a year now, and I was SO EXCITED to finally get to hear them! Of course, I hope someday to see her (or, maybe any stand up...) live, but for now, the awesome new album will have to do. Smart, at times poignant, and really just honest and funny.
