One time I was laying on the couch, listening to this CD, when Hildegard's dissonance literally resonated in my stomach. I felt the dissonance inside and loved it.
What I like most about this CD compared to the few other Hildegard's I have (Anon 4) is that they left in the dissonance that were original to Hildegard. Everyone else has tried to correct the dissonance that she put in her music. It is my understanding that Hildegard was on the cusp between monophony and polyphony. Thus dissonance happened. When it is accurately played, played as written, it affects me physiologically.
