This is Rush at their best and most sharable album. Side A is all hits and Side B is more experimental.

Recalling back to when I was twelve years old...the musicanship and catchiness of these songs. Once you hear them, you want to hear more of what these 3 band members can do. Example is on "Limelight" where Neil Peart is crafting a different drum part for every single verse of the song. What band does that and has an album that remains Rush's highest-selling album in the United States after it was certified quadruple-platinum by the (RIAA) for over 4 million copies sold???
I miss 1982...

GOD, master of the Universe, sought to it that the three forces, each Great in their own Right, of RUSH came together and shared with all of us their extraordinary talents. Combined together formed an unashamed, unrivaled energy. Thank you men!

You know, I feel that these guys donβt get enough credit for the work they did. I mean seriously. You canβt listen to YYZ and not be amazed at the versatility and talent. Geddy Lee with crazy mind blowing riffs and vocals, Alex Lifeson with progressive and implementation on the guitar, and I would personally say most impressing, Neil Peart.
I mean Taylor Swiftβs album βloverβ has almost 10,000 reviews while this has 30. We can do better, everyone.
Now, for Neil Peart.
This legend of a drummer defined progessive and was a inspiring example to younger drummers on odd time signatures. I fortunately was able to see him in person, when I was just a 20 year kid with a rock band opening for Rush. He was extremely kind and humble. He was like β I like your kit, can I check it out - want to see mine?β It was a great experience.
I have NEVER seen so much air drumming then at a rush concert. In the words of Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters, βRush is one of the only bands that people stay for the drum solo instead of going to the beer or merch table.β
Neil Peart. He left us much too soon, and his incomparable style will live on perpetually. Rest In Peace, my friend.
Overall this album is incredible. Polyrhythms, odd time signatures, and βfeelβ elevate this album and band to higher level than most music we see and hear today.
Good work, Rush.

The first time I heard Tom Sawyer back in the early 80βs I was 13 years old and to me the song was perfect and from there I bought every album they did. I have seen maybe 70-80 concerts at big and small venues but Iβve never seen a group more than once outside of Rush. I have seen them 4 times and Iβll never forget each and every one, it was at the forum on their Presto Tour that I saw them for the first time and they took neon lights and outlined each individual piece of Pearts drum set, when he would hit the individual piece the neon would light up. When he did his solo both the foot basses didnβt even blink, my buddy who went with me always said John Bonham was the greatest drummer ever............Till that concert!! I had dropped my lighter behind the seat in front of me when the concert started and I didnβt want to bother the guy in front of me, that is until they played Closer to the Heart thought the place was going to go up in flames. Great Times
RIP Neil Peart you inspired, awed, and made me think before passing never forget those great moments (from Lakeside Park) though itβs just a memory some memories last forever!! Poetry and harmony coming together.

My dad introduced me to Rush with a Neil Peart drum solo when I was like 3 years old. I am now 16 years old and still Rush. I love each and every one of the songs off this album. With the unbelievable drums in Tom Sawyer and the beautiful guitar in Limelight.
Rush best ever

I am a huge Rush fan and I loved this album from the minute I heard it for the first time, amazing to hear these three musician geniuses perform one of very few acts whose life performances sounded just as good as a studio album was lucky to see them live a thrilling experience for sure. Best Rock Band ever in my book.
