Like many of you, I enjoy ZZ Top’s considerable cannon of blues boogie hits from their glory days of the 70s and 80s. I still attend their concerts because this Texas trio delivers. I haven’t checked out any new material from the 90s onward for fear of being disappointed. Then I discovered “Gotsa Get Paid.” This 2012 gem benefits from a modern hip hop production feel. But the groove...that tight, greasy and hypnotic sonic mojo that ZZ Top delivers without equal..it’s all there. The rest of the album is amazing as well. Familiar, yet new. Great songs worthy of your consideration. Actually, the iTunes review gives you all you need to know about this album that likely even diehard fans missed. Don’t miss it again!
