I first heard Bears Den in 2014 while flipping my home. I had not dig into their music at all. Back then it was Berlin I kept hearing.
Fast forward to 2020 and the pandemic. I happened onto one of their newer songs then this album So That You Might Hear Me.
It quickly became my pandemic record.
Crow and Blankets of Sorrow are two favorites. Fuel On The Fire is as well. The harmonies, guitars and keyboards are amazing on this record. Let’s not forget the drums. :-)
Andrew Davie has a voice that is like a balm. It’s like a friend singing in the darkness and lighting the room.

Bears Den is the most talented band EVER! They weave beautiful tapestries of words that perfectly describe feelings and situations. I cannot wait to see them in concert next week! Been waiting for this forever it seems!

I had , perhaps, unreasonable expectations with this album after “ Red Earth, Pouring Rain”. I listened to their Podcast re: STYMHM”. “So That You Might Hear Me “ is beautifully produced and has a great sound. However, I can only hear the same song with same themes for so long. IMHO the first four songs that were initially/ early released are the best songs on the album. Could have been a good EP at that point. Other than that, kinda meh. Nothing ground breaking here. A better than average offering, but nothing more.
