The Trio

I love how James Horner uses the same trio of notes in several of the sound tracks he writes. I think they even sell T-Shirts that have the notes written out and then a giant X through 'em.

For many people, this soundtrack symbolizes the entire Soviet effort in the Great Patriotic War. "Tania" is beautiful in that you can listen to it a dozen times and have different reactions. Sometimes it is sad. Sometimes calming. Sometimes happy. Very good music.
Great

'Tania' might be the only song that can actually capture the pain and sufferring of the Russian people during that horrible war and the memory of her heroes who defended her.
What?

Yea there is one song. The song is good also but um... where are all the other songs?
Wow, Horner plagarized other scores? NOT NEWS!

As far as the review saying that Horner used a bit of his other score in this one...um...DUH? Where have you been for the past few decades? Horner always plagarizes his own stuff. Trek II ended up in Apollo 13 ended up in Titanic ended up in this. EVERYONE knew that already!
I hate to burst your bubble...

If you own the Titanic soundtrack, listen to track 10 at exactly 6:15 - 6:22. You will see that James Horner borrowed this exact melody from his own previous work to use again later in "Enemy at the Gates." And boy, did he use it. Did he really think no one would notice? I certainly did. Seriously...test it out for yourself...you'll be amazed.
Luving It!!

forget the fact that there is only one song, that one song rocks! "tania" claims to be one of those songs you can listen to over and over again without getting tired of it. i own the movie "enemy at the gates" and it makes into the top five favorites. "tania" pretty much plays throughout the entire movie, but it makes the film even more spectacular, and i'm glad that the cd wasn't the same song played over each time for every track. congrats for james horner on working his music magic again and praise for the enemy at the gates cd and movie!
