Sounds like a pop prouder (Rick Rubin) got his hands all over this. The mix is muddy and the vocals are overly manipulated and sound uninspired and sedated into boredom. It’s apparent the band or Rubin was trying to throw enough “hardness” into the mix as a token gesture to appease the bands following but the effort to redefine Turnstile’s sound as more approachable was half hazard at best. The result is an album that doesn’t commit in either direction and stalls out on the tracks resulting in a musical train wreck. Luckily, this band knows the secret spice and will hopefully learn from this throw away effort. And I generally think Rick Rubin is the best producer out there but he swung and missed on this one!

Turnstile is maturing and reaching their potential. This is their best album yet, and I can’t wait for what is next. Stay tuned my fellow Turnstile brothers.

I love Turnstile, and I thought 'GLOW ON' was their best album. However, 'NEVER ENOUGH' simply sounds like a collection of outtakes from their last album. Even the artwork feels too safe and same-y. The songs are almost completely devoid of any punk or hardcore elements whatsoever, the same elements which have made their live shows so spectacular. Overall, it's just a low energy rock album. Its sure to get airplay on both mainstream rock stations as well as college radio stations, though. Is it still better than most rock albums that have come out this year? Sure. I guess I was just hoping for more surprises this time around. A mix of their poppier elements with sprinkles of rip-your-face-off hardcore would be magical. Maybe next time.

It took me a second listen to get a full feel for the album. They truly grown as a band.
  • easy route for a previously better more talented band

this is a complete remaking of their past two albums. and not in a better way, but a cheap and easy way. it feels as if theyve lost ALL creativit, and im sad to realize that. i expect BETETR from Turnstile.
