Comparing AI to human artists is a false equivalence. AI does not create, it statistically recombines existing human made work without consent, lived experience, or emotional intent. Artists are inspired by what came before, but they transform it through consciousness, struggle, identity, and soul.
Telling artists to “prove it” against algorithmic perfection misunderstands what art is. Music isn’t about flawlessly meeting industry standards; it’s about storytelling, embodiment, performance, and emotional transmission. A human voice, a human presence, and a human lived experience cannot be replicated by code.
This isn’t progress in art; it’s the outsourcing of meaning. And when “realness” is stripped away, the emotional impact disappears with it.
Also ironic: supporting an anonymous AI project doesn’t mean you’re avoiding wealth concentration. No one knows who owns it, who profits, or where that money goes. You could very well still be funding the same industry power structures, just without transparency or accountability.
