Sarah French is very pitchy and cant hold the notes very long. They shouldve just Aileen Quinn sing instead. I was pretty disappointed.
  • Wow. Incredibly awful

Why can't Sarah French just HIT THE NOTE? Such an awful, badly trained singer, with not once ounce of acting talent whatsoever. And Kim Criswell makes Carol Burnett look positively DISCIPLINED. Skip this amateur recording. I want my money back. Awful.

This is a overall good recording of the show. One of my favorite Annie's out of all the recordings. I was dissapointed in Ruthie Henshall, the part doesn't fit her voice very well, but Ron Raines is very good. Kim Criswell is pretty good, but I hated that she was double cast as Miss hannigan and the Star to Be! She does not have the right voice for the Star to Be. The orchestra was very good.. Oh, and the girls that they got of the orphans were really dissapointing - they couldn't belt! What kind of Annie recording isn't complete without the orphans belting their guts out on Hard Knock Life, and the reprise was almost unbareable. I would only get this recording for fans of Kim or Ron, because they were the best things in this, or fans of the show. Still this Annie girl was pretty good, nice poppy kind of belt.

not very good honestly- stay with the original or movie soundtrack with Aileen Quinn. Also what happened to Hard Knock Life reprise?

This is ok, but seriously, stick with the original.

This album, overall, I like better than the Original Broadway recording. The orchestra is very good and clean sounding and better yet, it contains almost all of the music in the show. The adult ensemble is extremely strong, particularly in the songs NYC and Easy Street. The children are so-so and the girl who performed Annie is ok. She is a bit too breathy for my taste, however, she is still decent. The biggest problem, in my humble opinion, with this album is the tempo. The Overture, Maybe, and It's the Hard Knock Life are all a bit too slow, and You're Never Fully Dressed without a smile is too fast, however it does have the dance mix. Overall, the highlights on this album are Little Girls, NYC, Easy Street, the Entr'acte, Never Fully Dressed, I Don't Need Anything But You, and the Bows.
