Reviews

  • It's raw and it shows

I like the album and the songs but sometimes I cringe when I hear the mistakes that were left in the recordings. It seems like such a rushed album. I would listen to it more often if my ears could stand it.

I am pretty impressed with the "raw" version, since it seems more powerful to me, more unpolished, and stronger. To those who say he's looking for cash, I would ask if they know what he does with the money? Do they really think Neil Young needs cash, or is he donating it to the Bridge School or another charity? Furthermore, as was said in another review, I think he could make more money re-releasing "Harvest" or something on high quality audio, if he wanted money. Finally, to those who don't like it, why buy it? Why listen to it if you don't like it? Anyway, I appreciate someone is upset by the whole mess we're all in. Talking and complaining is one thing, but doing something is the best form for change. Peace to you all.

Living with war is a Patriotic masterpiece that shows a great love and respect for our country and the troops fighting in Iraq. Anyone in Iraq would welcome his call to end the war and return our brave men home to the great USA. His rage on the album is directed at the one man that sent our troops into this hell hole, with phoney intelligence and lack of reasonable thought. A war that the vast majority of the world does not support and has breed generations of people that hate our people and country. To all the One Star, Red State, Conservative Right Puppets that were sent by conservative radio to ambush this album…it didn’t work. Notice how One Stars come in waves through these reviews as the call to bash is mounted on the airwaves. Tell us what song deserves one star. Is it “After the Garden”, or the one about “Families” or “Flags of Freedom” or the “Looking for a Leader” which crosses party lines begging for someone to step up and lead our country in a positive way. “Keep politics out of music”…Ridiculous Statement as artist, poets, and song writers have always been the free thinking voice that governments fear when controlling a population and have been great contributors to Liberty and Freedom. The place politics should be removed from is the Church as worship should not be a dividing issue but one that unites the population. Neil Young is a Great American born in Canada and has written a gem of an album in 12 days…remarkable, but then again writing is easy when you have a lot to say.

boo-hoo, Neil is "living with war". The music is horrible and the message is so slanted coming from a indivdual who can tuck in comfortably in his million dollar home. I can only imagine how rough life is for him during these trying times.

I was very disappointed with Neil's first Living With War album because the sound was very muted and the guitar and voice was hidden behind all the orchestra and chorrus. This album however is sooooo much better, and being a HUGE neil young fan and a HUGE hater of the war, this new recording is awesome. It really sounds like something that Neil would've produced back in his glory days of "Rust and Harvest." Thank you so much Neil for being who u are because it makes me feel a lot better about this country.

This is yet another product of the biased liberal media that tries to falsely influence the american people that will eat up anything. I don't care what your political status is just play MUSIC and entertain us.

Very disappointing that a legend like Young has to seize a political opportunity to put out a CD to make money. It discredits only himself. Weak, Neil, weak. And bad to boot.
