If you are a fan of TMDR you probably already have this album and know how great it is. If you don't yet have it, please don't hesitate to purchase it. The Jazz Mafia Horns are a perfect compliment to these TMDR songs.
I've been a fan of TMDR's music since the early '80s. What I find interesting about his going back and 'redoing' some of his older songs is that he breaths new life into them. I've always loved 'The Key to Her Ferrari' and this new take on it brings a depth of maturity to it, as is the case with the other three previously-released songs. These are great new versions.
Then there is the new song, "Your Karma Hit My Dogma." There's a great story behind the song (I believe you can hear it in one of TMDR's podcasts, but if I'm wrong please forgive me). What a great, upbeat, toe-tapping song! TMDR brings a distinct Middle Eastern sound (which is achieved with a Hurdy Gurdy, for those who care) to this song and it works sooo well.
