This is simply one of the best soundtracks ever composed. Listening to this score actually inspired me to find the documentary that it was composed for. One creative way to listen to this score is by putting on your earbuds in a place like the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum or while watching an air show or walking through an airport or looking up at the moon and stars at night. It will certainly complement any of those experiences. And by the way, this album is worth buying complete. No individual songs because every single one of them is near perfect. Enjoy...

one of the best thing's about the documentary film, In the Shadow of the Moon is Philip Sheppard's score. A must have for people who enjoy 'space-esque' music or anyone who enjoys orchestral scores!
I just wish they released his other space-documentary scores.

I was absolutely floored by how amazing this album is, let alone how awesome movie is. The music was spectacular, it really captured the spirit of everything and how everyone was feeling while this amazing feet was accomplished. A must-have companion to the film

This is the magnificent audio track that underlies Ron Howard's documentary of the Apollo program, "In The Shadow Of The Moon." Of all the NASA documentaries ever done over the years (I have 'em all), this is head-and-shoulders above the rest. And no small reason for this is the utterly brilliant music of Phil Sheppard. Wonderful -- simply wonderful. You will savor these tracks for many years.

I bought this album after listening to some samples on the documentary's web site. Unfortunately I won't be able to see it until it's released to DVD. But I'm very happy that I went and bought the soundtrack.
My favorites are (in no particular order): Re-Entry, The Good Earth, Downlink, Staging.
In these hard, frustrating times we live in we have precious little inspirational entertainment. I recommend this soundtrack because it fills that gap nicely.
