I whole heartedly agree with the other reviwer who said that this is Mysterious Mountain at it's best. I've heard the others and like them, but this recording is amazingly done, deep, and rich, and melodic and just perfect. If you were to turn anyone on to the greatness of Hovhaness, this is the CD to do so with IMO. The added perk is an original composition by Mr. Williams "The Five Sacred Trees." It too is excellent and shows he is every bit as serious and thoughtful a composer as Hovhaness himself. I love this album and play it in my iPod or via the stereo to iPod nearly every day. Bravo! Mr. Williams. Well done.

John Williams and the LSO provide terrific performances of this selection of Alan Hovhaness' compositions. Better yet, the quality of the recording is excellent. This is probably the best version of Symphony No. 2, "Mysterious Mountain", available for download. I highly recommend it.
