Sander's most recent album appears to be a collection of current trends and melodies apparent in most of today's chart-topping EPs (that is, mostly electro and tech-house), but don't let that fool you. True to Sander's nature and perspective on what makes a universal DJ, the mix relies on some well crafted transitions and killer hooks to make it unique and engaging listen after listen. Telling a story, a primary focus for any DJ, is a goal surely achieved with each disc - although slightly more straightforwardly so in disc two. Some songs are rocking house grooves that pull the listener in because they are so simple and mesmerizing (Tucan on disc two), while others rely on the more progressive sound that big-room DJs are known for (Quivver's super-hot Dancing In Dark Rooms). The entire feel of disc one is a bit more eclectic and esoteric than disc two; when I saw Sander live most recently he played a lot of the tracks on disc two to much fanfare and dance. I think disc one has given Sander a chance to flex his collection and demonstrate how varied his tastes are; while the tracks are all hypnotic and evolved, they aren't necessarily big room beats. Overall the two-disc series is a nice way of testing the waters for a lot of what the dance scene is at its current state. Synthesizers are at the forefront of most of these tracks and sparse vocals entertain on about a third of the seletions. Consistent beat is varied with break beat or thoroughly electrified tracks to keep attention and maintain intrigue. While not nearly as house like as Sander's "This Is Everybody Too" series, the set is a welcome addition to Sander's lineup of mix CDs and worthy of his well respected and much revered title.

Great mix from start to finish, extremely tasteful, seemless as always. This mix should be nominated for compilation of the year at IDMA 2008.
