Not what I was hoping for from the greatest rapper ever to touch the mic, but it passes. Rakim you can do better and you knew that when you let this hit the market. The 4 new tracks work, I like them, but I wanted to love them. The live tracks hit and miss, way too much audience participation and not enough Rakim Moving The Crowd. Call Eric B. and work it out.
  • Forerunner to a classic?

The taste of the 'new' Rakim at the beginning of the album, followed by the R's 'concert' definite whets the appetite for the full studio album. This album will be a mainstay in my rotation for some time. Can't wait for the album next Spring (2009)!

Damn this is the first complete rap album I have bought in a long time. Rakim's flow is still sick. And although you only get 4 studio tracks, Rakim taking the chance and filling out the CD with live recordings is what made me buy the complete CD and not just the 4 tracks. Hip Hop is back!

old skool is where its at. can't beat it, real rap. lyrics that mean something. if u don't like this u don't know much, rakim influenced nearly every rapper out, if u like any rap say thank u to rakim all of this takes us back to the question is hip hop dead. yes, and no it has evolved into something different. my personal opinion is hip hop is dying, but rap is alive and healthy if u don't get it i'm not about 2 explain it and u probly listen to radio rap like low
