Underground hip-hop is my favorite genre of music, but I think this could be a lot better. I'll start with Esoteric. Don't get me wrong, he's doper than most rappers you hear on the radio, but I think he could use some variation. His flow and voice just seem constant throughout the album, he doesn't really convey any other emotion than "slightly angry". And 7L's beats are perhaps over-simplified. Hey, Ant is my favorite producer and his beats are deceivingly simple. But that's the key word, "deceivingly". Throughout Dangerous Connection, it sounds like 7L is using the same kick-snare-hihat combo, and it gets a bit repetitive. It also feels like there's SOMETHING missing in most of the beats. With that said, there are definitely some gems on this album. "Stalker", my personal favorite, hits everything perfectly. You actually become creeped out by Esoteric with his believable lyrics and the beat. "Word Association" is nice because it's a cool variation for the album. Beyonder's beat on "What I Mean" is tight. In reality, most of the songs have the potential to become one of your favorites, but the lack of variety (for the most part) brings it down a bit. I'd give it 3.5/5

One of their best joints eva released. Tha lyrics and beats are all tight. Internationally they aint well known but cd's like this is what makes them hip-hop legends in Boston. Tha best tracks are word association and precision. This cd is a definite buy.

So is Es. The two best songs are "Stalker" and "What I Mean".
