  • Great Debut Album

Unlike other SOLAR artists that relied much on the "in-house" production of the great Leon Sylvers III, The Deele did it for themselves, with some help from a few guys from the fellow label mates, Midnight Star. This album screams 1983 with the "make you sweat" pop lock jams, "Body Talk," "I Surrender," and the title cut (of which sounds much like The Time's "Wild & Loose"). "Just My Luck" and "Crazy Bout'Cha" was completely flawless slow numbers that had a bit of a rock/funk edge to it. This is the start of what would make Babyface and LA Reid become monster producers that they will be from the late 1980's and the 1990's. Who knew this was them with the funk and the jherri curls!

Genius...CrazyBout'Cha, Just My Luck...pretty songs! Body Talk went head to head with the Prince and Time synth tunes. Great music from Face and LA Reid...The Deele was intense. I wore this album out and the poetry and drive of the album put them on the map.
