Honestly, I really enjoyed watching the movie and the songs fit really well into the whole thing. It isn't actually Nina Dobrev singing, but someone by the name of Keely Hawkes; their voices are combined because Nina couldn't reach the high notes. I like all the songs, but I prefer "Dreaming Wide Awake", "Clear", and "Survivor".
Luv it

I thought this movie was decent. But to tell u the truth It was a movie u laughed alot in even at the serious moments. It was also kinda silly but some of the tunes werent half bad. But the vocals wernt the best either...:P I still recommend to give the movie a chance and watch at least once.
Garbage...

I read almost all of the comments on this
and I thought people were being very mean and over-exaggerating....
Until I listened to the album and found out how bad it was myself!
Nina Dobrev's voice is COMPLETE garbage. She sounds HORRIBLE!
The songs sound generic, almost as if they are "typical" for a musical.
I haven't seen the movie, but after listening to the album, I imagine its quite bad and
mabye even annoying.
I had high expectations for this movie but, not anymore!
True...

Some people may think that high school musical is better but this is what I think. High school musical is for younger audiences and is a bit cheesier. I mean, a lot of musicals are cheesy, this one is just a little bit, too. But there's kinda a limit, especially when your aiming for older audiences.
Also, a lot of the songs in the American Mall are kind of like songs you'd be hearing on the radio, not songs telling a story like they do in other musicals. Which means, of course the lyrics might not have that much meaning in them. They have feeling and everything but they're mostly just meant to be catchy. Which is something that I really love about this soundtrack, because that means you dont have to be watching the scene to see what happens, you can just listen.
So all in all, I really like this soundtrack and movie and I think it's one of the better musicals we've seen lately.
What the hell?

I don't understand how this could be a movie. Or a soundtrack. Except for Neil from SYTYCD, the whole movie and all the songs were terrible. Sure, HSM was a little babyish for my age group... but this ain't annyy better, honey.
what?

I cannot believe they didn't include 'Hey, Sugar'! That's my fave. Anyway, I like the CD, it's alright, but some of it is really flat....
really good!!!!!
