This is by far the best OBC recording of a musical in the history of OBC recordings (IMHO). There is such a vitality in this version that is not in the film version or even the London Cast recording of this show. I mainly imagine this is true because the cast (especially Rex) had grown very comfortable in his role by the time the others were made. And you just can't beat Julie Andrews, who was robbed by Jack Warner of this part in the film. You can feel the electricity and chemistry between the performers here, not something you can say for a lot of recordings. Although I am devastated at the lack of The Embassy Waltz on this album and that will always be my favorite piece of music from the show. There is also an LP version on itunes with some interesting 'post-recording' stuff. But buy this and buy those other tracks seperately.
