She reminds me of Rickey Lee Jones, but way better. Listening to her can be very addictive. You listen to her albums and always say "this one is the best" until you listen to another one. Really looking forward to ITunes getting Love in the Time of Science!!!

I guess at first I wanted to find the songs with "a beat", but this album is surprising. The vocals are very clear and they touch many common life events. I can really hear the Nordic spirit (whatever that exactly means). I can see listening to this album in a lot of different settings. And .. her voice/style comes across as a cousin to Blossom Dearie.
  • I love it. Buy it

I've written no more than probably 4 reviews on itunes over several years but I wanted to give this Album a great review as soon as I heard it. Simply put, you cannot go wrong to buy this album. "Birds" is an amazing song. "Beggar's Prayer" has one of the most beautiful instrumental arrangements leading out of the song which you will not hear on the preview

Each song is well crafted and rich. The production is gorgeous--the acoustic guitars sound like you could eat 'em up.
  • Not so great, but at least it was free for me!

I didn't even get the whole album, because I got a "Pick of the Week" card from Starbucks today and all I had to do was put in the code on the back of the card and that was it. The song it gave me for free was Big Jumps. It's not even that good but at least it was free.

Sometimes a woman's voice can be either overpowering or too soft and gentle to carry a song. Emiliana's voice is niether. She is perfectly balanced. Her voice is absolutely beautiful. I often stop everything I am doing and just sit and listen to this album. Each song is unique, and creative. You will not ever be bored listening to this album. With smart lyrics, and beautiful vocals this album is my new favorite.
  • New direction in the wrong way

What happened to the good old days of Emiliana in 'Love in the time of science'? Where did that dark yet beautiful music go? and to be replaced with folky pop music? 'Fishermans Woman' was something new, and I liked it for what it was, but I do not like this new direction she's going in, she's becoming more generic when she has soooo much potential.
