It's that good, top to bottom. Not a bad track here. Money I$ King is an awesome track. I learned about Lee Fields after buying Sharon Jones "I Learned the Hard Way" (also excellent CD) I bought this CD and couldn't stop listening. I've been telling everybody they need to buy this CD. Lee Fields should be mainstream instead of all of the rest of today's garbage radio. If you like soul music, you will believe like me that this is the best album in the last 10 years! Here's hoping for many more Lee Fields albums and this artist (who's been in the game since the 70's) gets his due. This is brilliant music!!
My World is a good one

Musically this album harkens back to the days of Curtis Mayfield, Isaac Hayes and Al Green. I definitely loved the "Ladies", "Honey Dove" and "Do You Love Me (Like You Say You Do)" tracks, especially the expressiveness of his vocals which have tinges of Wilson Pickett. On the down side, I thought a few other tunes were a little similar to one another in tempo and feel, the instrumental grooves were good, not great, and the smoothness of "My World Is Empty Without You" gave it a weird, eerie feel. That said, all in all, it's still a good album, although I can't go over the top for it like some other reviewers did.

...I just had the pleasure of singing along with, dancing, jumping,& sweating to the amazing sounds of Mr. Lee Fields & the Expressions at Pickathon music fest. It was like a combination of soul, funk, rock and blues like James Brown, Roy Ayers, Otis Redding,Aretha Franklin & Rick James but all with his own flare & charisma. The Espressions were tight! Thank you for the good times this weekend!

This is a 10/10 album. The music and production is nothing short of amazing. Deff in contention for best album of the decade. Consider yourself lucky that you found it.

It just feels right, like you've had this in your collection for years. The only thing bad about the whole album (CD?, download?) is that it is over too soon.
Incredible

In my opinion, this is the best release in any genre of the last five years. Lee is pitch-perfect and he's backed by an exceptionally tight group of musicians. It's a shame that more people aren't aware of this wonderful record.
The Real Deal

This is one seriously great album. I've always had a love affair with 70's style R&B/Blaction soundtracks and soul. Lee Fields does it right and true. This is no parody or throw-back, it is the real deal. You can hear the work he puts in from the first song to last, nothing is glossed over. We can only hope another is in the works.
Great Album!
