My only criticism of the group is that they never seem to get any farther west than Berkeley. If they performed in Honolulu, I'd be tempted to buy all the tickets and give them to people I really like...

Rarely does a live album do justice to an artist's work; even more rare is a live album that moves one's work forward. Such is the case with the Jennys' live album. I thought their harmonies could not get any tighter and more precise, yet they did, and from a live performance. Extraordinary! Bold Riley is an instant classic, and Summertime is a fresh take on an old standard. The album covers several genres, from spirituals (Bring Me Li'l Water Silvy) to 'nondenominational gospel' (Glory Bound) to reflective (Driving). I am ecstatic to have found this gem, yet I am already sad because I am thirsty for another new album. Keep up the good work, Jennys!

I heard these women at APAP years ago and they were thrilling. I think Hun Huur Tuu was right after them. I was there playing with Lavay Smith. I'm glad to see they are doing so well and sounding excellent! Worth buying...

Start with "One Voice". That will tell you all you need to know about the gorgeousness of their voices. It is amazing! The rest is good but that's the standout.
  • Thanks Jennys!

Very nice...almost like being there. The sound is great and the atmosphere is palatable. I saw them on their last tour and this release is a lot like the performance that we shared that night -- the sound quality is much better, though! I hope that the girls will have time to work up some new material for a studio release before 2010...gonna to need a few more releases in order to be truly legendary!

Mauch Chunk Opera House is in JimThorpe, PA. Very cool town, very cool, off-the-beaten-path venue. Wailin' Jennys sound solid, tight, and on key. Worth purchasing...
