Jamie Lidell is probably my favorite contemporary artist, period. He's not afraid to display his never-ending search for newness and fulfillment in his creative process, and that inspires me. Thank you Jamie!

So creative with a blend of R&B, Rock, and Electronic. He is a generation of what MUSIC should be.

Jamie has a great voice. Too bad you can't hear that amongst the many sound effects in this album. Multiply was good. Jim was fantastic. Compass is disappointing. If I wasn't a big Jamie fan I would give this album only one or two stars. Jamie's voice, the small points you hear in the songs, saves the album a bit. But overall, very disappointing release after a solid release like Jim.
  • Completely Exposed is a must listen.

Jamie Lidell has come an extraordinary way from his first album. Completely Exposed shows Lidell as a confident soulful musician. It perfectly blend Soul searching lyrics and flair with a layer of Electronic energy. I've gotten a chance to here him play several songs live from this album in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and he is just as explosive on his tracks as he is in person. This has been my favorite album of the year and solidifies Lidell as a top artist in my book. Fav 5: 1. She needs me 2. Completely exposed 3. I wanna be your telephone 4. Compass 5. Your sweet Boom

  • Played out novelty act.

Not sure if this guy wants to be Andre3k, Prince or Justin Timberlake on this album. This album is uneven, and another poor attempt by an artist to capture those Prince elements on an album. The voice sounds horrid. I wanna be your telephone sounds like a bad SNL skit of some guy from europe trying to be Prince. The Prince re-hash sound has been done a million times and it gets old to hear these two star players do it. The singing on this album is his worst yet, he sounds old and like a crying dog. Jamie is better then this, and right now he is sounded like a played out novelty act.

Ok I'm still wondering why there are so many bad reviews of this album on itunes. I think you can't judge an album until you've listened to it multiple times so I waited until now to write a review. This album is genius. It's eclectic yes, but this only makes it more interesting. Each song has such a different emotion or feel to it, and makes this record all the more complex and enjoyable. It starts off with the awesome song completely exposed that introduces the album on a good note. I love every song but my favorites would have to be your sweet boom, enough's enough, the ring, gypsy blood, and big drift. Your sweet boom combines being expiramental, unique, and so catchy. Enough's enough is one of the happiest songs I've ever heard. The ring is just gnarly in every way. Gypsy blood has cool music and is a great dancing song for some reason. Big drift is slow but cool and the harmonies are magical. Whatever types of music you like you will find something on this album you love, simply because jamie is such a genius.

I think its funny to see the reviews on here of people complaining that he is using too many weird effects and sounds. Hahaha You guys should really check out his first album on Warp. The man grew out of the IDM and techno scene people, know your history. Actually if anything this album is a bit too serious and tame, and is missing some of the raw charm and fun of Jamie going crazy looping his voice over and over again until it morphed into something really special, and wonderful. I think it was amazing when he really first found that wonderful voice of his. It was and is something special coming out of a nerdy white boy HAHA. If you guys just want some regular R&B, go pick up the new Usher album or something. Jamie you rock brother, always did. I know you got bunch of new fans, that may not know the roots, but us old fans still got mad love for you. Do your thing, but keep having fun, and changing it up.
