This album is irresistible. Luckily, I caught Black Uhuru during this tour - it's the closest thing to their early years (i.e.. red, utterance, etc.) - including a few re-makes like Heathen. I can groove to this baseline all day long.

This is a modern classic of reggae music featuring the grimiest, tuffest, collection of roots musicians and vocalists of this era-Black Uhuru. This was the album that turned be on to Uhuru because Reggae Rock was getting lots of radio play at the time. I was floored, especially by the vocals and rhythm section. I don't know if Sly and Robbie were on this release, but the bass and drums are heavy, heavy, heavy-none of that synthesized drum kit nonsense. The bass and drums literally shake you to the core. And the melodies-forget about it. Though it doesn't match up to the golden era of Uhuru under Rose and Reid, this is their last great masterpiece-a magnum opus for modern times. It is simply stunning.

The first reggae album I ever bought in 1990. I was into alternative music at that time, but NOW captured my attention somehow and it became the only reggae album I ever owned for 15 years. It is a very pleasant sounding album, and I love revisiting it 18 years later (although now I have added Peter Tosh, Bob Marley and other rasta/reggae songs to my collection of music).
