This album is a true work of art. Even if you have never listened to Ed Harcourt before you could start with this album. It is up there with Jeff Buckley's Grace and Rufus Wainwrights Songs for LuLu, and it is consistently more listenable than both of those great albums. This isnt music for people who dont appreaciate great artists. It helps if you appreciate artists like Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright and an album like Heartbreaker by Ryan Adams. The album is mostly just ed singing and playing piano with the exception of 2 songs where he's singing and playing an electric guitar similiar
in sound to jeff buckleys Hallelujah...
I want to stay and dream.

Ed Harcourt has done it, and done it right... again. Back to the woods is a masterpiece and should be treated as such.
Beautiful

A stripped down, honest and beautiful album.
