Don't you dig the 80's and Alphaville like I do? If you do, you'll love this album! Some of the same songs from different albums like Forever Young, Afternoons in Utopia, and The Breathtaking Blue are all on this album you'll love! I'm 20 years old, and I really dig the 80's including Alphaville. Bronski Beat, Erasure, Men at Work, and Simple Minds are other 80's bands I enjoy as much as Alphaville.
  • Great 80's Synth Pop

I'm a little ashamed to admit they were one of my favorite bands from the 80's. If you like the etherial, moody, synthesizer tunes of the "Me" decade, this is a great collection.

I could stay young listening to forever young! That song rocks! Whoa!
  • A decent collection of Alphaville's 80's pop singles!

If your new to Alphaville then this is surely the place to start for their early singles. Overall this album is weighted towards their more 80's unptempo pop stuff, some of which doesn't hold up as well as their downtempo tracks. Its really more of a nostaglic experience. Marian Gold's vocals can seem "over the top" at times but after a while you learn to appreciate his range & intensity. I can't believe they didn't include "Afternoons in Utopia", its one of their greatest songs from this period. Besides the hits, other songs like "Jerusalem", "Lassie Come Home" & "Summer Rain" are excellent tracks that deserve much appreciation. After this try their 3rd album "The Breathtaking Blue" which really expands their oeuvre.

I'm an 80's baby and was big on Euro New Wave back in the day. Hearing Alphaville after so many years took me back to some of the most wonderful times of teenhood. "Forever Young" will transcend you into a feeling of flight and, of course, "Big In Japan" keeps you bopping. Fantastic compilation of their greatest songs!!
  • Alphaville!

Okay, I'm, like, 12 years old and my mom totally got me started on Alphaville! They were around when she was young, and she has burned all of their songs onto a CD. She let me copy the CD onto my iPod, and now I can't et enough. "Forever Young" is, like, my theme song!
  • Phenomenal!

I totally forgot about this band. Forever Young was my high school song when I graduated in 1986. Really enjoyed the vocals and synthesizers. Can't miss with this album.

My uncle, Pierson Grange, is in this band. He plays the drums. I love listening to all their music. It's fantabulous ;)
  • Booooo! Mixes posing as initial versions! For shame!!

OK I only bought Big In Japan as no one at Apple was clever enough to put up the Forever Young album where Big In Japan is in its best iteration. I buy the "same" track off this album and it is terrible, totally devoid of the cool Japanese style instumental intro of the first version of Big In Japan. I almost want my .99 cents back now.
