    I can’t get enough of this record. While I’ve never been a folk music enthusiast, Wolfe has taken the instruments of her Appalachian background - mountain dulcimer, jaw harp, harmonica, banjo, sand sticks - and combined them with the minimalist rock sensibility of the Bang on a Can All-Stars for a blend that recalls the folk timbres in a wholly fresh context. Rustic straight-tone harmonies of Trio Mediaeval propel the narrative in a way that is almost operatic and often otherworldly. Pick this record up. It’s worth your money. There is literally nothing else like it.
