i've been a fan of dave specter for many years and all his recordings have been terrific. this one is no exception - in fact, i think it his best ever! incredible, smoking blues guitar, with a super-fat, squalling tone carries every tune on this CD, backed with a tight, punchy band. specter plays it cool, red-hot, jazzy, soulful and always with the epitome of taste and feel. in addition to the instrumentals, the vocal tracks add some spice and flavor and are outstanding. if you are a fan of blues, soul and jazz guitar, all played by one of the genres absolute masters working today, GET THIS RECORD!!

Amazing album and one of the best records to come out of Chicago in years! Specter’s tone is better than ever and his original instrumentals are fresh and soulful. Otis Clay adds deep soul/blues power and Brother John Kattke’s vocals are also a highlight. HIGHLY recommended.

This terrific collection of songs is an outstanding example of Blues ensemble and Blues Guitar. Dave Specter has a great tone and the musicians surrounding Dave are stars themselves. The tracks in which Otis Clay performs are worth the price alone...but there is so much more. If you love Blues and Blues Guitar, don't hesitate!
