The boys crush it every time. This is a unique one day recording at Abbey Road, but it also stands as great stuff regardless. Tight, loose, technical and fluid. Studio Umphrey's is great and different than the great live Umphrey's. Check out Bad Friday, Glory and the Cut the Cable rearrange and you'll buy.

This album is very well played and all kinds of unique considering the location it was recorded in. Keep'em coming!

"Jam band" is way too pigeonholing a term for this progressive, improvisational megaband. Any rock group that can switch between Metallica and Toto deserves no such primitive description. If you like hearing fantastic musicians playing sometimes a hard-rocking prog-style, sometimes 70's groovy, sometimes dancy-trancy, and everything else in between, but always exciting and fresh - look no further.

Great effort Boys! Highlights for me are Rocker pt. 2, Out of Order, and Glory. I'm not a big fan of the Eat lyrics, but overall a great album. See you at Red Rocks!

This is one of the best albums in the UM catalog. Many of these tunes are ones that have been on their set lists for years, it gives you a great sense of their musicianship by hearing it in studio form. I’d love to see other projects like this at other studios! Love to see a sound city version of their funkier tunes. Kudos the the UM team!

Must have album for any umphreys fan. So cool that they recorded in Abbey studio where the Beatles recorded one of their greatest albums. Umphreys brings the heat with a couple of old classics mixed with newer songs. This band makes me believe that rock and roll is still out there well and alive with a mix of improvisation, funk and pop.

This album is well worth ten bones. Smooth mellow groove on everything. The fact that this was recorded in one day blows me away! Can't stop listening. You'll enjoy! Looking forward to Hall of Fame 14 yeah!!

Another great one from Umphreys. I love the version of Cut The Cable, nice contrast to the S.S. Version. It's great to hear a studio version of Rocker, also. Great musicians in a legendary studio making great music. This band deserves far more attention than they get. See them live when they come to your town, you don't know what you're missing

For a band that built their reputation on live shows, it is great to see what they can do in a studio. What you get is ten hours in Abbey Road and a great all around album. It is great to see live songs get a studio treatment, such as “Rocker part 2”, “Bad Friday”, “Plunger” and the beautifully done instrumental “Glory”. Ten months after their latest Release “Similar Skin” hit, they give No Diablo and Cut the Cable acoustic treatments, which is always exciting when a band unplugs and takes a song to its foundations. Rounding out with Out of Order, Eat, and the instrumental Comma Later for originals, the album delivers the whole way through. Placing the Beatles classic I want you (she’s so heavy) in the last spot plays a nice tribute to the band and also the studio in which they spent the day. Worth a listen for the diehard or just a casual fan of excellent musicians who always deliver. \mm/ rage.rest.repeat.

First off, I adore this band. I gobble up their Hall of Fame and Raw Stewage releases (which are, hands down, the best releases they put out). I can rattle off my favorite UM performances (May 2011 Red Tape from HoF 2011, Robot World from same release, Triple Wide from HoF 2013, All in Time from Sioux City 2008). Their music is leaps and bounds above essentially everything on the radio, and decidedly better than the high majority of others' work. They're amazingly talented, innovative and creative. This is a good album for someone looking to get into UM, but not the best for that. I'd suggest Mantis for that, mostly because of the title track. I have heard few better original songs, from anyone, in the last ten years. Essentially a perfect song. The London Session, to me, was a little boring, to be 100% honest. Maybe it's because I have 15-20 versions of Plunger in my iTunes. Maybe it's because I've heard most all of these tunes (save for Eat and the excellent Beatles cover) many times over. But this album leaves me wanting a little more. So I sought that out! I bought the Raw Stewage 2015 compilation, and am adoring it. To me, a better record than TLS would have been them sitting down in a studio, setting out to play the first quarter of the last UM Bowl (or at least orientating around those riffs/changes/structures), and letting it take them where it may. Improv, Jimmy Stewarts, digressions, "errors" and all. But I know that's not in the vein of the typical studio album. When compared to the rest of the iTunes store, or the rest of the Spotify catalogue, this is a 5 star release. It is fantastic. When compared to the rest of UM's catalogue, it is a 2 or 3 star, for me. This band is that good. Best songs I think are Rocker Part II, Glory, Comma Later, Eat and She's So Heavy. I had a feeling that this record wouldn't blow me away (again, because of how jaw-droppingly good the rest of UM's material is). But regardless, I wanted to buy it and give the band money. And I'm going to continue doing that, because these guys have mastered how artists should continually reinvent themselves, connect with fans, and continue to drive the music forward. I'll be seeing them on back to back nights coming up in Minneapolis, and can't wait. Bottom line- buy a lot of UM music. Rage, rest, repeat.
