Here is an excellent collection of songs from an eclectic and innovative Quintet. For thirty three years, the Tower Brass Quintet has creatively and progressively shaped their reputation as a premier chamber music ensemble, delighting a broad spectrum of audiences with their unique style of programming and performance. They are composed of Brian Bushong, trumpet; Charles Saenz the versatile newest member; Daniel Saygers, trombone; David Saygers, tuba; and Bernice Schwartz, horn. Their recent album "Road Trip", continues their innovative and engaging blend of traditional standards with Jazz and contemporary flavors. One of my favorite tracks on the album is "Drive Thru", which shows us the vivid imagery of trip that this Quintet has provided. In this song the rhythm is compelling and moves us forward with only a few passages of traffic. The horns provide their obligatory announcements from time to time, yet for all of that it is an appealing ride that I took several more times just to view the wonderful scenery. I highly recommend this album to anyone who loves excellent classical music, or who just wants to go for a wonderful drive.
