Scene Stealers Title Sequence

Design & Direction of the title sequence for Alchemy TV's teen show, Scene Stealers. The first show aired on BBC Switch, BBC 2 on Saturday 6th September 2008. The show featured two teenagers, who competed to convincingly take on a whole new teen tribe identity over the course of a weekend. Taking advantage of this stop-frame technique, the animation showed one style can morphing into another - reflecting the show's transformation theme in a fun way. The sequence was shot in-camera on twos, with the logo animation the only element animated in post. Over the two day shoot, the (very patient) models, Slinky and Camilla transformed into six different distinctive styles, which represented the extreme end of each stereotypical look. These transformations from chav to posh to hip-hop MC, and plastic, to goth to hippy were key looks to be featured on the show. Shooting on a limited budget meant I was able to make use of my garage of hoarded treasures for the set and props! I knew that plastic pineapple ice bucket would come in handy one day...
