Primal-Thriller. Director. Writer. Cinematography/Camera Operator/Lighting Designer. A young man floats through life and existence until the day he is mugged on the way home from school. His primal instincts call to him and he creates a fight club to feel in control and alive. The urge consumes him, his true goal is to confront his mugger and reclaim his power, a quest that isolates him. The shots used in this film were all about egocentrism, a series of tight shots with fast cuts to convey the humdrum of his life before the mugging. Afterwards, the shots tend to hold longer, and time gets a sense of near stillness, matched with near quiet and few lines, unless he is fighting. My favorite shot, my master shot, is the dolly crane shot that exists to show the main characters egocentrism.
