On the Hunt-Thriller. Director. Writer. Cinematography/Camera Operation. A deadly forest surrounds our protagonist. Using time distortion and intercuts, it is unclear whether the camera is following a hunter recollecting his traumatic times as a soldier, or a soldier using his experience as a hunter to survive the forest. All that matters is that it is him against what lies in the shadows of the forest. This film relied a lot on match cuts, reoccurring cuts, and juxtaposition cuts in order to keep the time distortion aesthetic. One example is seeing the hunter spot a deer, taking a shot, and cutting to the body of a disemboweled soldier. Or doing a slider shot transition, where the hunter walks past a tree in the camera foreground, and emerges as the soldier.
