This is a re-edit of footage I shot this week. Early fall, this morning was bright and sunny. The trees look just wonderful right now, just before the leaves fall to the ground. I took my md101 to shoot the trees in my garden (and my neighbours'). My primary goal was to experiment with depth of field. I achieved this by using maximum zoom (X30) in almost all of the shots. Then I edited a first version and posted it here: http://vimeo.com/373610 As I was driving to work this afternoon, I was listening to Klara, my favourite classical music radio channel. A captivating musical piece was playing: On the nature of daylight, composed by Max Richter. I had never heard it before, yet I found this music absolutely hypnotising, so when I got home, I listened to the Podcast of the radio program and recorded the track with Audacity and then used it to score this film. This track is on the cd "The Blue Notebooks", the second album by British-based producer/composer Max Richter. Many of the titles of this album refer to trees, which is a very bizar coincidence...
