Bali is known as the ‘Island of the Gods’. Its South West coastline is peaceful, serene & spiritual. This is where you’ll find our Private Villa, right on the Beach. Close by is the traditional village of Surabrata. Surabrata means ‘meditation under the sun’. What we’re not is what we are. If you’re looking for the bright lights, the bustle and hum of the traffic, all night clubbing, beach hawkers, wi-fi, satelite CNN, boisterous market life, then our beachfront Private Villa is probably not for you. In fact, it’s opposite in almost every respect. Where Kuta is chaos, our Beach Retreat is serene. We’re about 45 kilometres from the Airport. (In Bali traffic through the single-lane mountain road, that’s about 90 minutes - on a good day. But hey, you're not driving, sit back and enjoy the views.) We're ideal if you’re looking for a taste of the Real Bali. A deserted beach, lush rural surroundings, unspoilt villages, welcoming people, absolute beachfront, on-site Warung (café) which prepares simple wholesome food, and an infinity swimming overlooking the peaceful beach. In fact, the village temple is on the site. It is well known as an auspicious location, and has been for a thousand years. There's good body surfing in front of the Villa and a sweet sand-bar break about 200 metres to the left. But a reasonable walk along the beach, and beyond the point, is a world-class surfing location – Balian. It's perhaps a mile up the beach. Or if you don't want to schlep your boards, about 6 or 7 minutes by car or motor bike with a surfboard side rack. In fact, if you had a motor bike with a surf rack, you could ride there along the beach. Drive further west to Medewi which is reputed to be the longest point break in Bali; a left-hander that rolls gently over black boulders and offers rides of up to 400 meters. Our Beach is almost always deserted, apart from the occasional fisherman from the traditional fishing villages that are nestled at each end of the long, sandy beach. Our private villa is one of a small group. It's air-conditioned, has two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and a lounge/dining room with kitchenette. When the cool breezes blow, full length windows open the living area up to natural cool. We can arrange airport pick-up, day trips and taxi services on request. We can arrange a tradition massage, day trips to the mountains, and so on. A full day with a driver (comfortable car and petrol included) is about US$60. Personally, when we come to Bali, we split our holiday. Half the time we stay on Soka Beach recharging, and the other half we stay in Seminyak or somewhere similar. That's the best of both worlds. So, what are you waiting for? Get away from it all. Enjoy carefree, simple pleasures of the real bali. Sleep in. Take in the view. Read a book. Relax. Doze. Read. Doze. Enjoy a cold Bintang or fresh fruit juice by the pool. It's a real holiday in the heart of the real bali.
