This I wrote sitting on a baggage trolley in Kuala Lumpur airport because I had a deadline and my mind was blank. I remembered seeing this documentary "Yamakasi" which was about the parkour artists of Paris and I was blown away by their skill. I incorporated that in to the story-telling. The point where Akshay Kumar(the celebrity) swipes the bottle from the truck came from my love of Samurai cinema. A samurai warrior can in the blink of an eye use his blade while using just one foot as a pivot. The girl needling Akshay with, "You've finished your last Thums Up. Want something else?" and his retorting, "There's no such thing as a last bottle of Thums Up?" really nailed it for us. This was a huge hit all across the country.
