Mendoza is a second-generation Chicano from East San José California and has performed in Los Angeles as a writer, scholar, community organizer, documentarian, and digital artist. This piece was originally published in October of 2004 as part of the DEAD LETTERZ / invisible ink: kwento digital text project. MIKI SEIFERT is a US Butoh dancer and video installation artist. WILLIAM FRANCO is a US filmmaker, video and sound installation artist and Butoh dancer. They are the artistic directors of With Lime, an interdisciplinary arts company that creates performances, installations and projections that explore the interface between cultures and is committed to the vision of the arts as positive force for personal and societal transformation.
